Taipei Design Capital Links

Hi, guys! To celebrate Taipei and Taiwanese designers, I thought I would compile a list of links referring to Taiwanese design. I’ve been a big fan of Taipei these several months and would like to bring this feeling to the rest of the world: let’s begin! If this list gets large enough, I might dedicate an entire page to this.

Songshan Creative Park

• Songshan Creative Arts Park: http://www.songshanculturalpark.org/index.php: One of my favorite design hubs. They were recently hosting  The Taipei Design Musueum, as well as the 100th Anniversary of Doraemeon. A former tobacco factory, this place serves lots of design related events
• 1914 Huashan Creative Park: http://www.huashan1914.com/: Another design hub in Taipei. Has several design shops, warehouse to hold events/museum exhibitions, bars, and even performances. MyKafaesque has taken some photos to do justice for the place.
• The Red House: Former theater and marketplace in Old Taipei
• Creative Culture Neighborhood Maps. Look, the City of Taipei even created an iPhone and Android app for this: http://apps.taipei.gov.tw/TaipeiApp_p28.html

• Pinkoii: The etsy of Taiwan. Bringing indie Taiwanese designers to the world to sell their handmade products.  While I don’t use Facebook, I’ve discovered that there are so many Taiwanese designers out in the internet that you’ll be blown away by their work.
